Cowlitz Game & Anglers

The shooting range has received a Grant from the State for $100,000. We have received slightly over $100,000 in pledges of cash money & equipment from Cowlitz County Citizens. – We need another $30,000!! We have a 12 year, extendable lease for 80 acres on the Lt-1 dredge spoils at the end of Toutle Park Rd East of I-5 exit 52.

We are within one technical report finalization (acoustics) of submitting our application for the Special Land Use Permit probably next week. We welcome you to submit your pledge which we will not call for until after the Special Land Use Permit is approved, about October 30 to Nov 15.

$100 puts your name on the permanent wall of supporters. $500 puts your name on the Sponsors plaque as well as allows 3 years of free shooting. Any amount will be appreciated.

Shooting fees will be $6 on Wed & Saturday for “walk-up” shooters. Season passes will be available for $60 allowing you to shoot any day for a 12 month period.

Phase I will provide a Pistol & Rifle range for 24 shooters. Targets will be from 7 yds to 50 yds for 12 pistol positions and 50 to 300 yds for 12 rifle positions.

A trap range $5, per round, and an archery range will complete Ph I Phase II will provide a 500 meter rifle range, a 300 yd rifle range plus a pistol & small bore range. Each facility to have 24 positions each. There will be 3 trap ranges. It will be the most complete and modern range in Southwest Washington. It should attract wide regional support.

We do quite a bit of projects supporting fish, egg incubators, Kids to Camp, Lake Sacajawea Kids Fish Day, etc. We also sling the bull about our hunting & fishing accomplishments (or near misses).

We meet on 2nd Wednesday each month at Bob’s Sporting Goods in the room over the housewares bldg. at 6:30 PM
