EGG BUCKETS (Remote Site Incubators – RSI)

The Cowlitz Hatchery will have 40,000 eyed Coho eggs ready for pick-up 26 January at 9:00AM . Mike Tyrell & I will pick up the eggs and distribute them to the various Egg Bucket locations. We need at least one more location to make up for one we lost since last year. The volunteer must live on a tributary of the Cowlitz River Watershed (but not in the Toutle R watershed). They must be able to check the bucket daily for proper flow & discard of any egg morts. Sometimes a tedious job, but most people find it very rewarding when the eggs hatch and the little guys (Alvins) start swimming around in the bucket. Let us know of any potential volunteers.
