We were supposed to get 15,000 steelhead Parr on 10 February but due to snow that morning the Skamania hatchery postponed delivery until the next day when the going was better for those heavy, water laden trucks. All the fish, averaging about 4” found their new home. The hatchery water was reported to be 47F while the thermometer in our pond on the So Fork Toutle showed 41F. However, the fish appeared to adapt quickly.
