The shooting shed will include highly functional sound proofing and many safety factors including a rock filled roof (and downrange baffles) to insure no bullets escape the Range.
CG&A President Dick Miller credits Kiefer Lewis, Western Washington NRA Foundation Director and Dale Hirsch, President of the Longview NRA Foundation Chapter for support in obtaining the grant in light of national competition for these funds. Upwards of $3 million is awarded nationwide. Miller points out this grant will be combined with grants from the Washington Recreation & Conservation Office and from the Washington Dept of Fish & Wildlife to form a strong financial base for the Range development. He further stated: “We are still depending on additional donations from local businesses and gun owners to push us up to the level of success required”.
